Red Riding Hood

image

Coming soon to a cinema near you is a brand new adaptation of the classic fairy tale little red riding hood. Coming from Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke and starring Amanda Seyfried it promises to be glamorously scary. I'm still scared of wolves, even though its a bit of a childish fear. Real life wolves don't scare me but cartoons and pictures do - their gnarly features and glinting eyes look so freaky!

The trailers don't stun me but Amanda looks so cute in the red coat I think I'll have to see it.

Promising to be steamy as well as scary the film comes out on April 16th.

New layout

I've got a new blog layout. If you follow my blog you'll know that I've been planning this for a while now, but have only just got around to changing it. I really love the new design it has just one flaw - the images. I hate the ugly white borders I long for clean cut edges or the cute thin border lines I used to have. On this setting for some reason it's necessary to have a white underline beneath every image. I don't understand why but it is!

In other news I've just received my first copy of Vogue by subscription :D I'm pretty excited about this and have actually been eagerly anticipating the March issue arrival!

Billie Piper

Does anyone remember the day when Billie Piper was a pop star and not an actress? I do, I remember liking this song - however since refreshing my memory I think I was clearly partially deaf when I was a little girl...

...on second thoughts - it's kinda catchy! Billie Piper - Day and Night
Does anyone else think that her dancing here reminds me of Angela in Green Wing dancing like a wolf?

Billie Piper has come a long way since her short singing career co-starring with the handsome David Tennant, (who is soon to be wed - sorry ladies!) this yummy mummy is also the Star of Secret Diary of  Call Girl the last series of which will be airing at 10pm February 1st on ITV2.

Tune in tomorrow to see the beautiful Billie and the dashing Iddo Goldberg for love triangles, scandal and of course - sex.

Fifi Lapin

imageThis stylish bunny is doing a 'year of the lapin' feature at the moment over at her blog.

She's up to may today and doing a new month every week.

May - I love that she's done a cupcake inspired look!

Freja Behn Erichsen

I may be a little slow on the uptake but for me this girl is a grower.
She was big back in the Summer and this fall, featuring in several campaigns; Valentino, Tom Ford, Balenciaga. Max Mara and notably Chanel alongside Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Freja also starred on the front cover of British Vogue in August.

So why has it taken me so long to like this girl? Because everyone makes her look so darn moody in so many pictures! I know most models are dark and moody and are told to look like that but I don't think it suits her. It wasn't until I saw her in the Vogue spring/summer 11 Catwalk report as one of the "Smiley Girls" that my opinion changed. I saw Freja in a completely different light when I saw the glowing smiley picture of her.

Now I think she's stunning!

Freja Facts: 23 years old Freja stands at five foot ten and weights 108lbs (49kg) and size six. She was born and discovered in Denmark.

I really really really want to be ginger!

Have you seen the Mulberry s/s 11 show? If not then what are you waiting for! Get over to glamour magazine now! (I am a long term supporter of Vogue and love the site for the latest fashion but Glamour has bigger pictures which is important when looking at significant details like broderie anglaise, nails, collars, trims, bags & shoes).

Possibly the best thing about the show is the models hair. Each model has crimped to perfection gorgeous auburn locks with big blunt bangs on top (fyi I know that I'm not American but I couldn't resist the alliteration).

Ahh I am insanely jealous! I wish I had the complexion to be a redhead!

p.s the clothes are pretty sweet too, expect a big Mulberry post later in the week.

Get to know me

Like most people my age I'm all over the internet, I have facebook, twitter, formspring, I even still have a bebo account!

I don't like to add people I don't know on facebook but I love to follow fellow bloggers that I read, then I know a little more about them plus I usually get a heads up when they post something. My twitter is: @emilyluptonx

I love formspring too, sure you do get some weird and inappropriate q's but you can block whoever sends them and ignore the question. You also get lots of funny questions and recently I have become quite the agony aunt. So go on, ask for some advice, what I like in a sandwich or what I wore to school today: Emily's Formspring

Blog design

I like the design of my blog but there are some things that I'd like to be different, mainly that the posts are very thin and I'd like something wider on my page. Unfortunately I can't adjust that without adjusting the whole template, I seem to be using a  realllllly old one that you can't even use anymore and you can't adjust hardly anything either.

So I tried another template on a blog that I don't use. I tried to make it as similar as possible. I quite like it but I'm not keen on the picture borders, and there doesn't seem to be any way to make the post background the same colour as the background background! On the positive side I can adjust the post width and make it up to 1000 pixels which is effectively converting to a 7 bedroom house from a tiny flat. Currently I only have 400 pixels to work with!

Opinions please.

Orla Kiely Spring Summer 2011

I love Orla Kiely, her prints, her colours I think she's pretty incapable of creating something ugly.

This collection will go down in history as one of my all times favourites, joining the likes of McQueen, Miu Miu and Chanel.
I adore the flirty and charming appeal of the clothes. The updo's with matching and mismatched headbands are really cute but the vertigo inducing wedges and red lips make the pieces sophisticated.

Her s/s 11 collection is a thing of beauty, I've narrowed the 57 piece collection down to 10 pieces (trust me it was really hard!)

"you never stop absorbing ideas from the world around you"

The collection is as we would expect from Orla Kiely, full of girly classics but with a twist (excuse the cliché). Orla uses classic shape; A-line skirts, skater skirts, 50's style dresses, puff sleeved blouses, trimmed cardigans, high waisted skirts and takes them to another level with popping prints & bold shapes.
Orla manages to squeeze some of this seasons trends too, the micro-trend of collars, strappy wedges, bright colour & nude, vintage, fifties, seventies, and my favourite, mustard yellow.
Every piece from this collection is a piece I wish to own, nothing is half hearted, everything is full of charm.

Orla Kiely has put together a collection of clothes that you could wear to see your Grandmother would be proud of, something completely wearable and something wonderfully on trend.
